Officials in Holladay County are preparing for a planned controlled explosion Tuesday night after pristine explosive material was found inside a residence.
Tony Barker, commander of the Joint Adventure Unit, said the homeowner near 6200 S. 2300 East St. contacted a friend for help when he found what was described as material. "Ancient Dynamite" commissioned by a family member
When investigating the situation, it was found that there was a significant amount of dynamite. The owner and his friend immediately contacted authorities. Mr Barker confirmed that the surrounding roads were closed as a precaution.
While no accurate information can be given on the amount of dynamite found, Barker said the quantity was substantial. Describe the size "There's a huge scope," when asked about the position within the company.

Where explosive materials are stored Barker's response stated that it was spread throughout various areas, including a basement, garage and storage facility.
Meanwhile, preparations for the controlled explosion are underway. Officials warned that the homes involved would be demolished and become unsuitable for occupancy later in the process.
Confirmation was given that nearby houses would not be affected by the bombing. But nearby residents are being advised to stay indoors and avoid coming out while the operation is taking place.
Barker said the time limit for making controlled explosions was set between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
In the meantime, officials are conducting an investigation to determine whether the host will face criminal charges where appropriate.
